Officers from the New Canaan Police Department were dispatched to a business on Cross Street shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, where there was a reported dispute involving the business’ owner and San Diego resident Hannah Nicole Michaelis.
According to a police report released on Monday, Michaelis was attempting to retrieve an item at the business had closed for the day.
Following a brief investigation into the altercation, Michaelis was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault of an elderly victim.
Police did not identify the name of the business.
Following arraignment, Michaelis was released on $2,500 bond and is due back in court on May 16 to answer the charges.
